Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, known for parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. In the 1980s, she began her acting career. She became famous for her role as Tezaab in which she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Then, she starred alongside Aamir in Dil. As a young child growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she began to learn how to dance. At the age of 15 began acting, but had a difficult time as a majority of her films were flops. Then she found her way to success and then was one of the top actresses within the Indian film industry. Her marriage led to a pause in her career. Later, she returned. More recently she played an integral part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these she's won eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award given to civilians in India was awarded to Dixit. Her name is well-known for her charitable work as well.
